Linkwitz ORION speaker cabinets

These ORION loudspeakers were designed by Siegfried Linkwitz and are copyrighted. Construction plans and crossover/equalizer electronics can be purchased from LINKWITZ LAB. Once you've purchased a kit, Carleton Woodworking can build the speaker cabinets for you or supply you with parts to assemble the cabinets yourself. If you're trying to match a room decor, the panels can be custom-veneered using a veneer of your choice: aniegre (shown above), ebony, rosewood, quilted maple, exotic burls - the list is endless. We offer the following package options:

1) Unfinished Flat Pack	$ 750
2) Finished Flat Pack	$1,400
3) Custom Veneered & Finished Flat Pack	$2,200 plus veneer costs
4) Assembled Speakers	$2,200 plus fabric cost
5) Custom Veneered & Assembled Speakers	$2,800 plus veneer and fabric costs

1) The "Unfinished Flat Pack" package includes all parts cut to size and shape with holes drilled. Interior parts are made of MDF (you will need to paint them black). Covers are made of tempered masonite. Veneered panels are made of standard veneered plywood. Edgebanding is not applied to the veneered panels, but is included in the package, along with directions for application (you can apply edgebanding with an iron). For an additional $50 the panels can be shipped already edgebanded. The veneered plywood is unsanded and unfinished. Plywoods offered are cherry, red and white oak, maple, birch, walnut, and mahogany. Other plywoods are available at additional cost. Fabric is not included in package.

2) The "Finished Flat Pack" is the same as #1, except that the veneered plywood is edgebanded and the panels are sanded and finished with three coats of catalyzed lacquer. Fabric is not included in package.

3) The "Custom Veneered & Finished Flat Pack" is the same as #2, except that you can choose any veneer from the hundreds of types available and we will lay it up in a pleasing pattern. We'll work with you to choose a veneer and send you a sample to be sure the veneer is to your liking. This is the option to choose if you're looking to match the decor of a room or want panels that are particularly distinctive. Fabric is not included in the package.

4) The "Assembled Speakers" are built using veneered plywood. The cabinets arrive ready to go. You install the electronics components and screw on the side panels, using the screws provided in the package. Plywoods offered are cherry, red and white oak, maple, birch, walnut and mahogany. Other plywoods are available at additional cost. Fabric cost is not included in price.

5) The "Custom Veneered Assembled Speakers" package is the deluxe option. You can choose your own veneer. We'll send you a sample. The cabinets arrive ready to go. You install the electronics components and screw on the side panels, using the screws provided in the package. This is the option to choose if you're trying to match decor and want professional results. Fabric and veneer costs are not included in price.

All packages are shipped by insured UPS or FedEx as you prefer. Prices do not include packaging and shipping costs or applicable sales taxes. Delivery in 4 - 8 weeks depending upon current workload.
