Individual instruction

A proud student shows off his walnut chairs If you want to learn:

  • Solid wood construction and joinery
  • Woodturning (spindles and bowls)
  • Veneering
  • 32mm cabinet construction, or
  • Designing furniture using CAD

I can design a course to suit your needs. Our shop is fully equipped with two table saws, panel saw, radial arm saw, sliding compound miter saw, jointer, planer, bandsaw, mortising machine, router table, vacuum pressing table for veneer, drill press, lathe, horizontal mortiser, Legacy milling machine, hand tools, and cabinetmaking tools, and I can offer instruction on any of these machines. I can also give a tutorial on any technique found in our book Dining Tables.

Location:  361 Stagg St., Brooklyn, NY

Fee:         $350/day plus materials

What to bring: Tape measure, eye and ear protection, and a notepad and pen for taking notes.

Additional information:

- All participants are required to have full health insurance.

- Enrollment is limited to two to five students, depending on the class.
